I had a brilliant time in Vietnam a few years back, but one incident disturbed me. This US guy at our hotel hired a local girl from her family for a few dollars. He hung her upside down from her feet over the bath with hands tied behind her back & head and shoulders submerged. Of course she could breathe, but only by increasingly painful and fatiguing contortions.
He had her like that for over an hour & she was conviced she was going to die!
