  21. 2000jago

@godofwar949 No offense taken. ;) Seems we now agree so nothing left to say except “ROCK OUT!!!”

  22. godofwar949

@2000jago Though you’re kinda being a douche (no offense), I agree with you and the fact that DJ’s aren’t musicians aren’t musicians by mixing others’ work. They have the ability to enhance a musician’s work, but they are not musicians themselves.

  23. 2000jago

@Metalwurst666 I was bashing the fact that people talk about DJ’ing in the same breath as being a musician. I stick by that, it’s NOT the same. After 5 minutes I can come up with stuff on a board that could EASILY be mistaken for the work of a “professional”. DJ’ing is like taking a bunch of artworks and arranging them into a collage to create “new” art.
Does it take skill to make a collage from other peoples pictures? Yes, but it’s not the same skill required to create the original artwork.

  24. Metalwurst666

@2000jago remember that you were the one who started bashing DJing? (“fun passtime you can learn during your tea break”) also you said DJing is not music, which is simply wrong.
it is a creative process, and the product of this process contains not only notes, rythm, accents and whatever defines “music” technically but can (not neccesarily have to) also have meaning, atmosphere and high artistic value. you can say you dont like it and im fine with it, but to bash it is stupid and ignorant.

  25. 2000jago

@Metalwurst666 If you really didn’t care about my “opinion” why would you feel the need to defend DJ’ing to ignorant little me over and over again – your actions contradict you.
Now, I know several people who are “professional” DJ’s and in contradiction to what you speculate above, they agree that DJ’ing is a DIFFERENT skill. Apples and Oranges – and a comparison is unfair. Wait! Isn’t that my point? Guess you missed that part… but please keep playing all the same.
